Plate & Platter was originally built by Holden’s parents as Ard’s Farm. Growing up, Holden was actively involved in every aspect of the business. Everyone knew where to find him – at Ards. Cooking chicken, serving weddings, doing dishes, wasn’t just a part of his childhood, it was the planting the roots to grow the company into a thriving business.
Holden and Alison met when she found her passion working as the Events Manager at Ards Farm, where she helped coordinate and execute countless weddings and special events. Through those experiences, she developed a deep understanding of what it takes to create a seamless event and an unforgettable guest experience.
When the opportunity came to acquire the Catering Business from our parents in 2024, it felt like a natural next chapter. We weren’t starting from scratch, we were continuing a family legacy while bringing our own vision, energy, and experience to the business.
Today, as parents of two young children and owners of a farm in central Pennsylvania, we understand the importance of family, community, and celebrating life’s milestones. Those values shape everything we do.
Over the years, we’ve collectively been involved in thousands of weddings, corporate events, fundraisers, galas, and private celebrations. We’ve worked alongside planners, venues, florists, photographers, entertainers, and countless other vendors. We’ve seen what works, what doesn’t, and how the smallest details can make the biggest difference.
That experience allows us to serve our clients as more than caterers. We are event professionals who understand timelines, logistics, guest flow, vendor coordination, and everything that goes into creating a successful celebration.
